Blackout Curtain With Flexible Installation – 4 Sizes

This blackout curtain for windows is made from a flexible, double-layered material designed to block incoming light. The curtain is available in 100 x 145 cm, 200 x 145 cm, 300 x 145 cm, and 400 x 145 cm. All variants can be cut to fit the shape and size of the window. Installation does not require a curtain rod or drilling.

The curtain is attached at the window with self-adhesive Velcro tape. This allows the material to be taken down when daylight is wanted again and put up as needed. The solution can be used in bedrooms, children’s rooms, living areas, by skylights, and as temporary screening.

The removable installation makes the solution practical in rental properties, during travel, and in rooms where the screening is only used for periods.

Key Benefits

  • Opaque material designed for effective light blocking.
  • Available in four sizes from 100 x 145 to 400 x 145 cm.
  • Can be cut to fit standard and irregular window shapes.
  • Installed without screws, drilling, or traditional curtain rods.
  • Self-adhesive Velcro tape makes the curtain removable.
  • Double-layered material provides screening at the window surface.
  • Can be folded and stored in the included bag.
  • Flexible measuring tape included for measuring the window.

Light Blocking at the Window

The material is described as fully blackout, but the overall result also depends on the installation. To limit light along the edges, the curtain should overlap the entire glass area and preferably part of the window frame. Small openings around corners or attachment points can allow light to seep in.

The flexible construction allows the curtain to be adapted to both standard windows and special shapes. The product material shows square, curved, and angled cutouts. Therefore, the curtain can be used where ready-made curtains do not fit directly to the window’s measurements.

Thermal Screening

The double-layered material is designed to create an additional barrier at the window surface. The product material describes protection against sunlight and UV exposure as well as reduced heat gain. The actual thermal effect varies according to window type, sun direction, installation, overlap, and the room’s overall insulation.

The curtain does not replace insulating glass or fixed sun screening but can be used as an additional screening layer. It is useful in rooms where less direct light is wanted during certain periods, without the need for a permanent curtain solution.

Cutting and Flexible Installation

Measure the window before selecting a size and cutting the material. Please add overlap around the glass area to reduce the risk of light openings. Mark the desired shape on the curtain and cut along the marking with suitable scissors. Check the fit before attaching the self-adhesive parts.

One part of the Velcro tape is attached to a clean, dry, and smooth surface at the window. The other part is placed on the curtain so that the attachment points meet. When the curtain needs to be removed, the Velcro tape is separated while the self-adhesive parts can remain. The suitability of the surface should be checked before installation.
