Insulating Window Film With Suction Cups

This insulating window film is designed for indoor installation on windows where an extra barrier against solar heat, cold, and direct light is wanted. The reflective, layered construction is placed in front of the glass and helps to limit heat transfer through the window in both warm and cold periods.

The film is mounted with suction cups and therefore does not require permanent adhesive on the glass. It can be taken down, rolled up, and reinstalled as needed. This makes it suitable for homes, conservatories, skylights, patio doors, and other glass areas where a removable solution is practical.

Key Benefits

  • Creates an extra insulating barrier in front of the window.
  • Reflective surface helps to limit direct solar heat.
  • Can be used in both warm and cold periods.
  • Mounted with suction cups without permanent adhesive on the glass.
  • Can be removed, rolled up, and reused as needed.
  • Available in several sizes for different windows and glass areas.

Overview

Large windows can provide a lot of light, but they can also contribute to temperature fluctuations in the room. In summer, the sun’s rays can heat the glass and interior surfaces, while window areas in cold periods can feel chilly. This insulating window film with suction cups is intended as a simple, removable screen that is placed on the inside of the window.

The material’s structured build creates an extra layer between the room and the glass. The reflective surface faces the window and reduces the amount of direct radiant heat that reaches further into the room. The film also acts as a screen, limiting the view through the covered area.

The solution can be used seasonally or as needed. For example, it can be set up on windows with strong sun exposure during the summer and removed again when more daylight is wanted. In cold periods, it can be used as an extra layer in front of exposed glass areas.

As the material covers the glass surface, both the view and daylight in the mounted area are reduced. The product is therefore best suited for windows where temperature shielding and privacy are prioritised over unobstructed views. Consider the placement carefully in rooms where natural light is important daily.

Reflective Insulation Throughout the Year

The reflective side is intended to face the glass and sunlight. In warm periods, it helps to send some of the direct radiant heat back towards the window before the heat is distributed further into the room. This can be practical in rooms with south-facing windows, skylights, or large glass surfaces where the sun shines directly in for several hours.

In cooler periods, the material acts as an extra physical layer in front of the glass. It does not replace standard building insulation or energy-efficient windows, but can be used as a temporary screen on windows where cold draughts or chills are experienced close to the glass surface.

Installation With Suction Cups

First, clean the window thoroughly, removing dust, grease, and loose particles. Then lightly moisten the inner surface of the suction cups with clean water. Place the film and press each suction cup firmly against the glass, so the air is pushed out and a uniform vacuum is created.

If a suction cup has become deformed during storage, it can be placed in warm water at about 40–60 °C until the shape is restored. Do not use boiling water. Allow the suction cup to dry, and then mount it on a clean, smooth surface.

Regularly check that all suction cups are properly attached. Very uneven, porous, or structured glass may provide poorer adhesion than standard smooth window glass.

Multiple Sizes for Different Glass Areas

The window film is available in six sizes, allowing it to be chosen based on the width and height of the area to be covered. Measure the glass surface itself before ordering, and take into account handles, trims, and openings. For larger glass areas, multiple pieces can be placed next to each other.

The film can also be used on smaller skylights, glass doors, and defined areas in a conservatory. Choose a size that covers the desired area without interfering with the window’s opening function or fittings.

Removable Solution Without Permanent Installation

The suction cups allow the film to be installed without screws, drilling, or adhesive residues. This is an advantage in rental properties or on windows where permanent changes are not desired. When the screen is not needed, the suction cups can be gently loosened from the edge.

Roll the film loosely instead of folding it sharply. Store it dry and protected from heavy objects that could press marks into the material. The suction cups should be stored without significant deformation.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, hard brushes, and sharp objects, as they can damage the reflective coating. The suction cups can be rinsed in clean water if they lose grip due to dust or grease.

Allow all parts to dry completely before storage. With proper installation and regular cleaning, the window film can be used repeatedly as a flexible solution for seasonal screening and insulation.
